Frequently asked questions
You are able to have as many sessions as you think you need. We will discuss this when we first meet. Sometimes people enter therapy and have 3-6 sessions to work on a particular problem and learn new coping strategies whereas some people will enter therapy for a long period of time to address complex trauma or other difficulties that will take longer to address in therapy. Ultimately you can decide how many sessions you want and I will support you to consider what might be most helpful to meet your goals.
Counselling and Psychotherapy are both talking therapies that provide a safe, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences. The terms are often used interchangeably and there are many different types of therapeutic approaches e.g. Person Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, Relational Psychotherapy...What matters the most is finding a therapist whom you feel comfortable working with and who is able to support you to meet your goals and aspirations for entering therapy. As an integrative therapist, who is also accredited, I am able to draw on a range of therapies to support you to meet your goals.
